I am a professor of Algebraic Geometry at the KdV Institute for Mathematics of the University of Amsterdam. I enjoy thinking and talking about a broad range of mathematical topics, and lately have been interested in many things related to arithmetic geometry, homotopy theory, or computer assisted proofs.

Feb 10, 2025 - The next edition of the Belgian-Dutch Algebraic Geometry Days will be held on Friday, March 21 at the University of Amsterdam. The speakers are Matthew Morrow, John Christian Ottem, and Susanna Zimmermann.

Jan 14, 2025 - My simple Lean 4 tactic tauto_set was merged into mathlib. It automatically proves tautological statements involving intersections, unions, complements of subsets.

Sep 20, 2023 - This fall I will be visiting the Institute for Advanced Study as part of the special year on p-adic geometry.

We run a local Arithmetic and Algebraic Geometry seminar and take part in various national seminars, including the Belgian-Dutch Algebraic Geometry Days and the Intercity Number Theory Seminar.
